Hey Mom

I was on my couch watching TV with my favorite show on and my cereal resting on my lap. Few spoon into my cereal, i figured that it needed more sugar so i got up and made my way to the kitchen to fetch some. On the way my phone started ringing and i felt too lazy to attend the call since it was a Sunday morning. So i ignored the call and added sugar to my cereal. I made my way back to the couch and sat back down with a sigh of relief.

A few minutes into the show the phone rang again, with a grunt, I got of my couch and answered the call with an annoyed tone and asked "Who the hell is this?". There was no reply for a few seconds until a voice, soft tone, lady like voice asked "Is this Jerry?". I lowered my voice and answered politely, "YES". Then she gave me the most horrific news I have ever heard, "I am here on the Overseas Highway calling from your mother’s phone and she has met with a car accident, please do come over here quickly".

I panicked. I rushed to my wardrobe, put on some cloths and ran towards the garage. On the way, I grabbed my keys and accidentally pushed over a vase of the table. It shattered into a million pieces but i was least bothered about about cleaning it up and I got into the car and started it up. I took a moment to think about how bad the accident could be, then I slammed on the accelerator.

It was the peak of traffic as it was rush hour with all the workers heading home to meet their families and their loved ones, while I was thinking about the good old times with my mum and I was wondering if I would see her alive again.

While all this was going through my head I didn't notice that the traffic signal had turned red and there was a child crossing the road. So I quickly slammed on the break but the speed of the car was far to great to stop before the traffic signal, so I steered  my way around the child narrowing missing him by an inch and somehow squeezed my way through traffic and got myself Overseas Highway.

At this point my heart was beating so fast that it was getting hard to breath. With least care for myself I carried on somehow passing by cars with the speed far far greater than the other cars.

Suddenly the phone rang and my heart skipped a beat. I looked at the phone and it was my mum calling. I immediately answered the call. With panic I asked "IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?!". My mum replied "Yes dear, everything is alright you don't have to worry about me".
I stopped the car by the side of the highway and took sometime to catch my breath then my mum asked, " Are u driving safely?". I was quite for a while. Then with a sigh of relief I said, "I love you mum".

A Century To Complete - Sagrada Familia

Can a project take more than a century to be completed? Well, some projects do take a century to get over. Sagrada Familia is one of those projects that has taken more than centuries to be completed. It is one of the best-known structure of Catalan Modernisme, attracting over three million visitors annually to Barcelona, Spain. Antoni Gaudi, an architect who is also called by the name "The God's Architect" started the project in 1882. Gaudi was a very religious person, and all his works were infused with a sense of spirituality that reflected the natural world and the God. Sagrada Familia was Antoni Gaudi's most significant work, with this project he was able to take spirituality to a new level. He worked on this project until his death in 1926. This project came to a stop soon after his death. He was not fortunate enough to complete what he had started. Surprisingly, Gaudi knew this truth. He knew that he wouldn't be able to complete this project during his lifet...

Spotless Mind

Chapter 1 When things go south you will feel devastated, lost and scared. It was winter, when I found out that my neighbor Jennifer is never coming back. She died a few months back. The last time I saw her we talked about the recipe of blueberry cake. She used to be a good friend, a good mentor. After I graduated from college, I got placed in a small firm that would help me earn enough to make my living. I moved to the city and got a place near my office. My grandpa used to say that it was very easy to isolate yourself in a city, so I thought I would find some friends I could hangout with. Jennifer was one of them. She was smart, charming and nature loving. I used to work from nine till five and come back home very tired. Jennifer used to live next door and she used to bring me cookies and coffee every evening. The coffee used to be best coffee in that city. She was a neuroscientist who graduated from MIT. Her work seemed pretty complicated and exciting. Jennifer’s dream was to unlo...

The rising tension between Iran and the US.

For the past couple of months, we have been hearing about the rising tension between the US and Iran. When did all this start? Does the US fear Iran? The United States is trying to put maximum pressure over Iran to make them come to the negotiation table. However, Iran is adopting a maximum resistance policy. They will reject all the decisions put forth by the US. One of the actions taken by the US government was to put a sanction on Iran. This action which has been undertaken by the US government has caused a lot of issues globally. India, as well as many other countries that were importing a huge amount of oil/petroleum, cut down their import rate to zero percent recently. The oil price in India has increased due to this issue and it created similar issues in several other countries which had a high oil import rate. This tension between the US and Iran can have a huge impact on India if we do not take proper measures. India has to find an alternative partner to do oil...
